NexusBytes- VPS-2 Plan, New York

Nexus Bytes announced their Ryzen + NVMe offers recently onLow End Spirit among other places. I was thinking of consolidating the VPS’es in this quarter – somehow ended up building a collection of VPS’es in the second half of 2019. Jay (Seriesn) and I and separately, another user had been exchanging messages on this topic, when I finally decided to bite the bullet and sign up for this service.

This VPS was obtained under the “Switcher Special” offer. In order to get this plan,  I would have to cancel the Rahost-TinyKVM VPS plan, as per the “Switch Special” option offered by Nexusbytes. In a separate post, I will explain how and why I opted for the Switch Plan of NexusBytes.

In a nutshell, for less than 55 US Dollars, a 2 GB RAM/ 2 Core AMD Ryzen VPS with 40 GB NVme (plus storage) and 2 TB Bandwidth – for 17 months, was too good to miss.

There are higher plans that can be availed, going all the way upto VPS-11G plan ( 11 GB RAM, 10 Core VCPU, upto 220 GB NVMe with annual payment). You can find the details here.

Results of the Benchmark Tests

I. ‘dd’ test

Update: Jay (Seriesn) from Nexusbytes thought that the dd results were off. He requested that I reboot the VPS and run the dd again. Across 5 tests, the results got better.

Wrapping it up: Ryzen VPS by Nexusbytes

Around second half of 2019, the desktop focused Ryzen CPUs by AMD began to show up in datacenters and Virtual Private Servers. Nexusbytes were one of the early adopters for these processors. This machine looks like a good, solid performer.
