VPS Review

ReadyDedis VPS in Mumbai

ReadyDedis posted an offer on Low End Spirit and Low End Talk about their new Mumbai location. I was intrigued. Good, reasonably priced VPS (Virtual Private Server) plans in India are few, and for a while I have been looking at an option of a VPS in Mumbai.  I do not have any servers in India, because the price to specifications ratio does not work well typically. In recent months, this has changed – two other offers for a VPS in Mumbai were posted by Cloudjiffy and Nexaracks recently. (read my benchmarks of Nexaracks VPS ) This offer added a third option.

Nexaracks VPS in USA: Benchmark Results from YABS

Last week, user Someshzade from Nexaracks reached out at LowEndSpirit. He wanted to know if I would be interested in running Benchmarks and testing out their new VPS. My reply was, hell yes! Withing a few minutes, he sent another message with the VPS details. Default operating system the VPS came with was CentOs, which was not to my liking. In Virtualizor Panel, the options available were : Ubuntu 16,04, CentOS, and Windows . I opted for Ubuntu, even though my personal preference is Debian if available. Anyways, were are not here to discuss the merits or lack of) Linux distributions.

NexusBytes- VPS-2 Plan, New York

Nexus Bytes announced their Ryzen + NVMe offers recently onLow End Spirit among other places. I was thinking of consolidating the VPS’es in this quarter – somehow ended up building a collection of VPS’es in the second half of 2019. Jay (Seriesn) and I and separately, another user had been exchanging messages on this topic, when I finally decided to bite the bullet and sign up for this service.

ExtraVM: AMD Ryzen based KVM VPS in Dallas, USA

I had been eyeing the AMD based VPS’es by ExtraVM for some time. I had also exchanged some messages with Mike from ExtraVm on Low End Talk about a VPS plan in Singapore. That somehow did not materialize.
On January 1st 2020, New Year’s Day, Mike Posted his offer for VPS on Low End Spirit for an AMD Ryzen based VPS, based in Dallas. The pricing after 30 percent discount (and an additional CPU core at no cost!) was tempting. I signed up for a 3 month period.

Introduction

I had run these benchmarks many months ago, while updating this website, saw this post in the drafts folder. Therefore I am publishing it here.

This VPS from PHP Friends was on offer as posted on LowEndTalk. The price and the specifications were very tempting, so I signed up after some back and forth with their team. My order had got flagged as fraud, and after exchanging some courteous messages with Tim (ceo of the company) my order was approved and we were up and running!
